Ghana left-back Gideon Mensah chased by Premier League duo


Ghana Black Stars left-back Gideon Mensah has emerged as a target for top Premier League sides Leeds United and Wolverhampton Wanderers, as both of the teams seek to bolster their defence ahead of a busy second half of the Premier league season. It is understood that Auxerre will accept any good offer around 12 million euros for the Ghana international.
Gideon Mensah , who at 24-years-old arrived at Auxerre in August 2022 but is already by several English sides. Leeds United coach Jesse Marsch is familiar with the defender, who's have worked with him when in charge at Red Bull Salzburg. Leeds United are also looking for a second cover for current left-back Pascal Struijk. Wolverhampton Wanderers have also been playing Spanish defender Hugo Bueno in the full-back role, who has impressed them during recent weeks. However the newly appointed manager Julen Lopetegui wants to sign Gideon Mensah to cover for Bueno, and sees Mensah as a well priced alternative.
